Sight Words to Help Kids Read is a valuable tool for facilitating children's reading development. This app is suitable for preschool, kindergarten, grade 1 and 2 students, as well as ESL and ELL learners.

The study of sight words plays a vital role in the reading process. The objective is for readers to recognize these words instantly. There are two main sets of sight words: Fry's and Dolch's. This app focuses on Fry's first 100 sight words (or instant words) as they encompass the most frequently used words in the English language and are therefore essential to learn initially. Many of these initial 100 words are also included in Dolch's sight words.

The 100 sight words featured in this app are the most commonly found words in English. In fact, approximately 50% of all printed words in books, magazines, etc., consist of these 100 sight words. They are the highest frequency words in the English language.

The first 25 sight words, covered in Level 1 of this app, constitute approximately 33% of all published words. Levels 2, 3, and 4 introduce the remaining 25-word sets that complete Fry's first 100 sight words.

This app does include advertisements through Google's AdMob service, but no ads will be shown from categories that Google identifies as sensitive.

The study of sight words aligns with Common Core State Standard CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RF.K.3.C.
